DESIGN TEAM TO BE APPOINTED FOR EXTENSION TO CARRIGALINE COMMUNITY SCHOOL – MCGRATH
The Department of Education is to appoint a design team to oversee the development of an extension to Carrigaline Community School, according to local T.D. Michael McGrath, who has welcomed the news.
“Carrigaline Community School (CCS) was included as one of eleven primary and post primary projects for which expressions of interest were requested last March by the Department of Education from suitably qualified contractors,” according to Deputy McGrath.
Deputy McGrath said that the Department of Education published the prequalification of contractors notice for the building project at CCS with a deadline of 16th April last for submissions by contractors.
“Carrigaline Community School continues to experience growth in student numbers as the town of Carrigaline expands. I understand the school is likely to reach the milestone of 1,000 pupils later this year.
“The progression of this extension project is great news for everyone associated with Carrigaline Community School. I look forward to working with the school to ensure this project progress through the remaining stages of the planning and building programme, so that the staff and pupils can enjoy the benefits of this extension as quickly as possible,” concluded Deputy McGrath.
